Your journey begins at Castle Clinton in Battery Park, where you’ll meet your guide. Castle Clinton, a historic fort that was once considered as a prospective site for the Statue of Liberty, is a landmark in its own right.
Then it’s everyone aboard the Liberty Island ferry. You’ll be able to bypass the crowds by purchasing no-wait roundtrip boat tickets from us. On the way over, you’ll hear about the Statue of Liberty’s history and how public conceptions of the icon have evolved over time.
Your guide will tour you around Liberty Island and tell you more about what you’ll see inside the Statue of Liberty Museum. You will have time to visit the museum after the guided portion of your tour. It’s very cool, too, because it includes “flames” from Lady Liberty’s torch, as well as some of the statue’s original construction.
Are you interested in taking our full guided tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island?
Your guided tour concludes on Liberty Island if you’re taking our express tour. You are free to visit Ellis Island on your own before returning to Battery Park.
If you’re doing our most popular complete trip, which includes both Liberty and Ellis Islands, you’ll board the ferry with your guide and cruise over to Ellis Island. You’ll learn about the millions of immigrants who arrived in the United States between 1892 and 1954 and passed through Ellis Island on their way to citizenship. The American Immigrant Wall of Honor, among other monuments on the grounds, will be pointed out by your guide.
You’ll also get the lowdown on the Ellis Island National Immigration Museum so you know what to expect when you go on your own tour. Spend as much time as you like on Ellis Island before returning to Battery Park by ferry, bringing your perfect NYC vacation to a close!

FAQs about visiting the Statue of Liberty
Is the Ellis Island Immigration Museum included in this tour?
Our quick trip does not include a guided visit to Ellis Island due to time constraints, but you are welcome to visit on your own and your ferry ticket will take you there. Our entire Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tour includes a guided visit to Ellis Island. Because guided tours are not permitted within the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration, your guide will advise you on what to search for before you go on your own. Admission to the museum is free.
What is the duration of the tour?
Our express tour’s guided segment lasts roughly 2 hours. After the tour concludes on Liberty Island, you are free to stay as long as you like before returning to Battery Park. Allow roughly 3 hours in total, but add an hour if you want to go to Ellis Island on your own. The entire tour takes about 5 hours, with 4 of those hours spent with your guide.
Is there a lot of walking?
For the most part, we’ll be on our feet, and there are some stairs. There is limited seating on the boat voyage over, and your guide will conduct you on a walking tour of the grounds to point out the various highlights. Please ask for a private tour if mobility is a concern.
Is a guided tour of the Statue of Liberty Museum included?
Inside the Statue of Liberty Museum, the National Park Service prohibits any guiding. Your guide will give you a full overview of the museum so that you may explore it alone and know what to look for.
What is the policy on cancellations and refunds?
We are aware that plans can change. For this tour, we provide a full refund up to 24 hours prior to the start time.
What is the gratuity policy?
Our guides always welcome tips, but they are never expected. They should be provided if you think your guide performed an excellent job and you want to express your gratitude to him or her personally.
